Updated color and material choices, June 2008.  Our material choices are always a work in progress. We are constantly adding more materials and occasionally, deleting others. The choice of exotics has been narrowed, but please inquire since our exotic choices can change from week to week. Some of the leathers shown elsewhere on the site may not be available now. The choices in traditional leatherettes are expanded with the addition of 3 materials shown on the bottom table.  There you will also find the 2  "Griptac" rubberized materials, one of which is our first grey leatherette!                   info@cameraleather.com

Natural Grain Kid leather (Goat Skin) Cameraleather's premier line.  These luxurious kid skins are tanned and hand polished
in the UK, and are the same type of leather used in the finest hand crafted bindings.  They offer a sensuous feel, but are very strong, and the patina will hold up even under heavy use.  Each skin has a unique, natural grain.  No pigments are used in finishing . . . giving each color a natural, transparent  depth and "marbling" . . .  not the "painted on" look of  less expensive leathers.

Genuine Exotic Leathers
Leathers pictured below are genuine exotic skins; the grain on each
is natural but with a consistent theme.  None are printed or embossed.  Lizard and snake skins offer a firm
temper and outstanding durability.   These are the types of leathers that have
long been applied to special edition cameras and luxury marques.
It  has become very difficult to stock the exotic leathers. We may not always have the leathers shown in this section, but we always have small lots of other leathers not shown. As of June 2008 we have a number of different colors of genuine Paradise Snake skins. Please inquire and we can provide photos of what we have. Our stock changes every week!

Composite Leathers "Composite" or "bonded" leathers are made from leather fibers mixed with a binder, then pressed or extruded into sheets of uniform thickness and texture.  Composite leathers have come a long way in the last few years, and many are perfectly suited for use as a camera covering.

Leatherette and Imitation Leather
The most economical coverings and the easiest way to make your camera look better. The perfect way to dress up a camera prior to selling. The "VH Black" and all textures of "Seal Grain" materials are available in sheets.  The VH Black is only available with adhesive backing at $10.50 per 9X12 inch sheet, while the Seal Grain materials are available with adhesive, or "dry".  The cost is $8 per 9 X 12 inch section "dry", or $16 with an adhesive backing.  The "Griptac" materials are not yet available in sheets, but we are working on it . . .  There are real differences among all the black leatherettes, which are not readily evident in these small samples.  So be sure to click on each one to see them in detail.
